Although I offer an individualized approach for each client, below is a general roadmap of what our journey together will look like:

THE PROCESS

STEP #1 - CONSULTATION

I offer each potential client a Free 15 minute phone consultation. This time is an opportunity for me to explain my process, understand your desire to seek therapy, and understand if we might be a good fit to work together.

STEP #2 - INTAKE

Once it’s been determined that we’d like to work together, an intake session is scheduled. During this time, I gather information on your life and present day concerns. Together, we establish initial goals for treatment and set up an initial treatment schedule.

STEP #3 - THERAPY

Following intake, we will begin with weekly sessions to establish rapport, and begin to work on initial treatment goals. Frequency of sessions will be altered as progress is made and/or new goals are set.

FAQs

  • My office is in East Meadow, New York, conveniently located just off Hempstead Turnpike and the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Depending on availability, your preference, and your location, sessions can take place in person at this location or via HIPAA compliant Zoom meetings.

  • I see individual clients facing a variety of challenges, including but not limited to: work stress, relationship conflict, supporting a loved one in addiction recovery, or addressing traumatic life events.

As a result of my background and specialties, my clients are often work in fast-paced careers with potential for experiencing traumatic events or burnout such as first responders, mental health professionals, and medical professionals.

  • Therapy can offer a space for emotional support and exploration to develop coping skills, improve relationships, increase self-confidence, manage mental health symptoms, navigate life transitions, and heal trauma. Just to name a few!

However, it is important to remember that therapy is not one size fits all, and goals will be tailored to each individual client, so if you don’t see something you wish to work on listed above, let’s chat and see if your goals are something we can work together on.

  • All clients begin with a Free Consultation Call. During this call, we review the reasons for seeking therapy, payment process, scheduling, and any questions the client may have to see if we are a good fit.

If we both agree to proceed, you will receive an email with intake forms to review and sign, along with access to a portal where you can view upcoming appointments and past billing.

Initial sessions are often centered around building the therapeutic relationship and establishing goals. Please feel free to bring any questions and share any desired treatment outcomes.

  • Sessions are your time. While I will check-in at the start of session and may ask follow-up questions from the prior session or regarding any assigned homework*, you ultimately get to decide how our time in session is spent. I work from a client centered approach in which you are the expert on your day-to-day life and I am the guide that will help to get you to your desired destination.

Sessions run an average of 45-60 minutes and are booked weekly at the onset of therapy.

*Homework will be discussed with and assigned to the client as deemed beneficial.

  • Length of therapy will vary from client to client. I will periodically check in with you to assess progress and any new goals that may arise from our work together. As goals are achieved, we may discuss moving appointments to a bi-weekly schedule or planning for discharge. I invite clients to actively participate in this process so that they do not feel ‘held hostage’ or that they are being ‘kicked out’ of therapy.

  • I currently accept Aetna and Optum (United Health Care / Oxford) Plans.

    Self-Pay Rates:

    Individual Sessions: $150

    Out of Network Coverage/Billing:

I have partnered with Thrizer to offer out of network billing. Those who qualify will be responsible only for their portion of therapy costs.

Example: If your OON benefit is 80% of therapy costs and my Session rate is $150, you would owe $30 at the time of service. Thrizer would then work with your insurance company to collect the remaining fee.

  • I require at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notice for all cancellations.

No-Show or Late Cancellation will result in the client being charged the full session rate of $150.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in the termination of therapy.
